Rapport’s Favourites: New Watch Releases

At Rapport, we understand that as the days get hotter, everyone is going outside to catch the rays. Some do it to get that tan they have been waiting all year for but for you jewellery lovers, there’s not a better time to shed some light on some flashy jewellery that may have been tucked away under the security and safety of a Rapport Box. Hence, for you Jewellery aficionados we thought we’d pick out some of Rapport’s favourite new watches released over the past few months that you might have missed.

We start with the Rolex GMT Master II, designed to show the time in two different time zones simultaneously, it’s the go-to for travellers around the world. Its robust and versatile appearance is thanks to its Oyster steel composition and Oyster bracelet. The watch features a two-colour monobloc Cerachrom Bezel insert in a green and black ceramic, a never seen pairing on this model. The new model is composed of some of the newest and desired watchmaking technology, a calibre 3285, enabling it to display hours, minutes, seconds, and dates, as well as an additional time zone in 24-hour format. What more could you want from a watch to accompany you on your travels?

Another new favourite from Rolex is the Rolex Air King. A tribute to the pioneers of flight the Rolex Air King features a 40mm case in Oystersteel, with a solid link oyster bracelet. It maintains its deep roots in its aeronautical heritage of the original Rolex Oyster, with a more harmoniously balanced distinctive black dial, it also presents an optimized Chromalight display, which presents distinguishing contrast between the dial and the numerals.

A real watch that has stood the test of time, is the Vacheron Constantin 222. Revealed in this year's Watches and Wonders trade show, the Vacheron Constantin 222 has a new yellow gold design. Which is on route to being one of the hottest trends this year, but don’t let be the only thing you take away from this watch as with an Angular 37mm 18ct yellow gold case and an integrated matching bracelet, this elegant watch is sure to catch anyone’s eye. It also includes a high-frequency movement with 40 hours of power in reserves and a special oscillating weight engraved with the original 222 logo. A technically faultless watch, the rotor leaves little to the imagination as it cleverly disguises the open case back so as not to marvel at its complexities. However naturally, to witness its inner beauty one must simply flip the watch over, as it reveals the exquisitely finished movements of the inner mechanisms through the exhibition case.

Just in time for the 100th anniversary of the original Tank Chinoise, the Cartier Tank Chinoise pink gold manual 430 MC is a timeless beauty. Recently debuted as the Oscars by Ryan Gosling himself, your wrist itself may be left timeless as only 149 are available for purchase. Inspired by traditional Chinese architecture the watch will be available in two colours of gold as well as platinum, however, Cartier went in-depth with the skeleton version, both compelling and original the skeleton utilises a variant of Cartier’s well-known hand-wind skeleton movement, the 9627 MC.

Our final favourite of the recent releases is the Patek Phillipe Calatrava 5226G-001, a marvellous example of Pateks continued quest for excellence in all fields of watchmaking art. Decorated in a dazzling white gold the Dial colour is textured and coloured a lacquered charcoal grey a rigid firm backdrop to the gold applied numerals, which contain a beige luminescent coating. Described as a ‘highly contemporary vintage style’ by Patek, both original and additional watch straps are handstitched calfskin. Whereas the original is beige with a nubuck finish the additional is black and embossed with a fabric pattern.

We hope this helped you discover any new watches you may have missed. Just remember to shop at our store when you want a place to put it for safekeeping.
